FAQs
Bravewood is a self-pay virtual practice for anxious high-achievers in NY, PA, and 43 additional PSYPACT states. Sessions are $250 and the best place to start is a free 20 minute intro call, no commitment, just a conversation to see if we click.

Bravewood is a self-pay practice. Individual sessions are $250 per 55 minutes, and extended/intensive sessions are $275 per hour, prorated for 1.5-5 hour sessions. Paying out of pocket keeps your care private (no diagnosis on file with an insurer) and lets us focus on your goals rather than what a plan will authorize. If you have out-of-network benefits, I partner with Thrizer to make reimbursement simple, many clients get a portion back from their insurer. I'm also happy to provide a superbill or a Good Faith Estimate on request.
-
I'm self-pay only and don't bill insurance directly. Many clients use their out-of-network benefits to get reimbursed, and I use Thrizer to make that process as painless as possible. If cost is a factor, mention it on your intro call and we'll talk it through honestly.
-
It's a relaxed [intro call length: 20 or 30 minutes] video call, no intake forms, no pressure, no commitment. You tell me a bit about what's bringing you in, I answer your questions, and we both get a feel for whether we're a good fit. If it feels right, we schedule a first session. If not, that's completely fine, and I'm glad to point you toward someone who might be a better match.

I'm licensed in New York and Pennsylvania, and through PSYPACT I can also provide virtual therapy in 43 additional participating states. If you're not sure whether your state is covered, ask on the intro call and I'll confirm right away.
-
All sessions are virtual. Cozy up at home, or squeeze one in from your (parked) car. Clients tell me they appreciate the consistency and the zero-commute, and yes, two of my three (unhinged) cats occasionally make guest appearances.
-
Book a free 20 minutes intro call using the button on this page. We'll talk, and if it's a fit, we'll schedule your first session from there. That's it.

Anxious high-achievers, physicians, executives, attorneys, founders, and other high-demand professionals, who look fine on paper but are running on empty. And if you're not sure you count as “high-achieving”: if you work hard, you probably do, and you don't give yourself enough credit. 👍

I'm Dr. Ashley Sutton, a licensed clinical psychologist (Psy.D., Rutgers GSAPP, 2018). I'm licensed in New York and Pennsylvania and PSYPACT-authorized across 42 additional states, with a postdoctoral fellowship in substance use disorders from VA Pittsburgh. I've spent most of my career in demanding hospital settings, so I understand burnout from the inside.
-
Yes. Research consistently shows telehealth therapy is as effective as in-person care for anxiety, burnout, and related concerns, with the added benefits of no commute, easier scheduling, and sessions that fit a demanding calendar.
-
I currently offer evening and weekend sessions to fit around demanding schedules. Extended/intensive sessions are available on weekends and require a brief intake assessment first to confirm clinical fit.
