About BRAVEWOOD

Hello, hello! I’m Ashley.

When you reached your career goal, you never realized that relentless overwhelm would become the norm.

You followed the blueprint, studied, and got the job, but you’re still miserable. The self-doubt is suffocating. You work SO incredibly hard for this life, but you’re not present enough to enjoy it.

That’s where I come in. I’m a clinical psychologist (Psy.D.) who helps anxious high achievers actually find and maintain work-life balance.

Working in a stressful hospital setting the majority of my career, I saw firsthand the impact of anxiety and burnout. I questioned everything: Can I trust my judgment? Is this field even for me? Do I have any idea what I’m doing?

Helpers often struggle the most with asking for help for themselves. When I finally started talking to people about it, I realized I wasn’t alone. I was able to make strategic shifts to build a career that also gave me room for a life.

It’s possible to make clinical decisions, hit your billable hours, and/or meet your deliverables in a way that leaves you room to breathe. Why just survive, when you can thrive?

WHAT TO EXPECT

I often hear from clients that they share things with me they haven’t felt comfortable sharing with anyone. You don’t have to carry it all by yourself anymore.

  • First session: we talk about what you’re struggling with and get to know each other.

  • Therapy strategies include :

    • Building coping skills

Whew. Bring your full story, without fear.

let's talk about it
A woman with long brown hair is smiling and wearing a white shirt. She is a therapist for anxious overachievers in Pennsylvania and New York.
  • Two of my three (unhinged) cats often join sessions.

  • You can take the girl out of NJ, but you can’t take the NJ out of the girl. The language will match (hell yeah).

  • I blow through romantasy books and have almost zero memory of them after reading.

  • I like to think I’m on top of my shit, but “Find My Iphone” is one of my husband’s most used apps.

  • I love flowers and floral everything, but have approximately negative two gardening skills.

  • I’ve been told I put way too much milk and sugar into my lattes. But, hello, isn’t that the point of a latte?
